Profile
Olga Sauma currently serves as Executive Director of the Business Alliance for Development (AED), a position she assumed in 2017. AED is an organization of more than 120 companies that aims to contribute to a prosperous, inclusive, dignified society in harmony with the environment.
She joined AED in 2008 as Director of Marketing and Communication. As of June 2009, she served as director of the area of business development and sustainable business management. Since August 2009 he has been part of the Executive Committee of INTEGRARSE (Central American Integration for Sustainability) for the promotion of CSR.
She has considerable experience in sustainability and corporate social responsibility guidelines, human rights and business, responsible business conduct, ESG sustainability reporting standards and SDGs. Olga has worked in the guidance and coordination of sustainable business strategies with more than 140 companies that make up AED. She has led and overseen projects and initiatives in the organization's main impact areas: education, employment and entrepreneurship, women's economic empowerment and increasing climate ambition.
She studied advertising and marketing at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and holds a Master's Degree in Social Responsibility and Sustainability from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica where he is currently a faculty member of the Master's program.
Olga has dedicated personal time to various causes through volunteer work with non-profit organizations and serving on various boards of directors. He is currently part of the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of Costa Rica. She has also participated in women's empowerment mentoring programs with Vital Voices in Costa Rica.
