Yohan Closs was named Vice President Customer Services for Airbus Latin America and the Caribbean in January 2020, following 20 years of international experience in aviation and maintenance operations.
In his current role, Yohan is responsible for the region’s maintenance, engineering, technical support, upgrade services and technical data to address fleet safety, reliability and product delivery, while enhancing customer satisfaction.
Previously, as Head of Services Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean, Yohan oversaw the promotion and sales of Airbus Services in the region, including Flight Hour Services Component and Total Support Package, Upgrades, Maintenance and Engineering, Material, Training and Airbus Digital solutions, such as Skywise and predictive maintenance.
Following the creation of the Miami-based Airbus Services sales team, Yohan led the deployment of Airbus’ Flight Hour Services in Latin America, signing up the region’s first customer in 2016. Since then, more than 230 aircraft are part of Airbus’ FHS network.
Before his focus turned to Latin America Services, Yohan held numerous roles throughout Airbus in France and the UK, including Propulsion Systems Engineer, Head of Maintenance Training, Head Of Training Development and Sales Director Services Solutions, where he gained extensive knowledge in strategy, business development and training.
A French native, Yohan earned a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering, with a speciality in Internal Combustion Engines from École Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique (ENSMA). He also obtained a Master in Business Administration from the Toulouse Business School.
In addition to his career at Airbus, since 2002 Yohan has been teaching thermodynamics of turbojet engines at his alma mater École Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs.
Yohan is fluent in French, English and Spanish and his hobbies include snowboarding, kitesurfing and traveling.
